Alexandra Munroe is a writer, actor, director, and lyricist from Long Island, New York.
She has published a poetry compilation through Lulu.com. In the spring of 2019, she workshopped her full-length play, Lunar Orchards, as a staged reading.
Her acting credits include Action by Sam Sheperd (Liza), Othello: Sin & Sacrament by Nicholas Kaidoo (Narrator/Ensemble), and The Hell House by Duane Joseph Olson (Ensemble).
Her directing credits include Watching Through Frames by Annie Vee, Access by Andy Spector and Lucas Yudman, The Role of Della by John Wooten, Cereal by Andy Spector, and two short plays from Out of Silence: The 1 in 3 Project.
On Long Island, she co-founded a theatre company with William Meurer called The Young Artists Project. The goal of her company is to encourage children & teens to gain interest in the world of theatre through adaptations of classic plays. In the summer of 2017, they had a successful first season with their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performing in several libraries on Long Island.
In the spring of 2018, she collaborated with her fellow Playwriting/Screenwriting majors to produce the P.O.V. Film & Theatre Festival. The goal was to showcase original works by writers in the program. P.O.V. lasted four days in the month of March and was a success on the Purchase College campus.
Currently, she is studying at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program as a bookwriter/lyricist.
